Asphalt Overlay

New And Existing...

An asphalt overlay is a layer of new asphalt applied over the existing base layer of asphalt on a driveway, parking lot or road. These new layers are generally about 1.5- to 3-inches thick, depending on the demands on the asphalt and the depth of surface asphalt removed.

New Construction Overlay

New construction over lay consist of many moving parts. First part is grading and preparation work, because the ground is not all even and might have a few high spots. So we go in with our equipment and take out or add in soil to the bottom grade along with eco friendly chemicals to maintain the integrity of the soil below. Then we apply a flex base as the foundation and place 2-5 ton rollers that vibrate and we add water compacting the flex base allowing to settle into a harden foundation. we allow 2 days for settlement and strength. After the two days we go back over it one more time to make sure that all the pockets are filled and it has came together tight. We then apply Txdot Highway grade type D hot mix over top at 2.5'" with our leeboy paver. We then compact with a 2.5 ton roller which will compact the asphalt to about 2". then we will clean any debris left over we allow 24-48 hours for a cool down period which helps with the strength and integrity of the asphalt. we finally place stripes to the customer specifications Completing the job.

existing Asphalt overlay

an existing asphalt overlay is pretty much in the title we first look at the the existing asphalt determining if it is strong and a good foundation for the new asphalt. We also go through and make sure whatever holes are there we fill in with base rock or asphalt so we know there won't be a drop in that area. then we lay over the existing asphalt 2" with a paver, compacted after its laid with a  roller. We let cure for 24 to 48 hrs. We clean up any access debris then we stripe to specifications Completing the job. Very simple and easy.
